Today I climbed up Arthur's seat. It was fabulous. Definitely going to be something I'll be doing much more. It was a perfect day to go really. It wasn't horribly windy and I wasn't too cold. Sometimes I find myself wearing my coat in my dorm room, but today getting exercise was so enjoyable! I am currently a little chilly in my room, but I've kind of gotten used to being cold a lot. Or wearing my winter coat all the time.
Since the last time I blogged, I've met some Scottish people. Haha. And they're Christians. holler at me. Hopefully I'll get to hang out with them some more. They're all freshers, but whatever. I went to this Christian Union event with them on Friday. I was surprised I knew almost all the songs we sang. Probably shouldn't have been because I think most were Hillsong United. The event was different than it normally is because it was other CU's from other Edinburgh schools that were there too? And it was missions night. Normally it's just in the Chaplaincy on campus, I guess and only University of Edinburgh students. Not like I really knew the difference because I didn't know anyone. haha
Yesterday, Maddie, Elizabeth, and I took on the city. We went to the National Museum of Scotland. We walked the Royal Mile and saw the castle. We took random streets. We ate crappy hamburgers. We saw a bagpiper playing in the street like guitarists do back home. We went to the Elephant House, where JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter. We drank tea like proper UK citizens. We tried to go out to a pub but didn't find any that looked decent and it was freeeezing out so we just went back to the dorms and watched Abduction. Baby steps. Eventually we'll find friends who know what's going on and we'll find some not sketch place to go.
Here's a taste of my time so far. Also
