Yesterday[Monday] was quite the day. I walked so much. I did so much. It was terrific. My adventuresome day began when I went to campus with my friend, Elizabeth. She's from Chicago and loads of fun. We're both pretty bad at knowing how to get places, but she's better than I am for sure. We actually made it to George Square/central campus without trouble. Then we spent some time trying to find important buildings etc. We hung out in the ISC [International Student Centre] for a bit, met some other Americans. Where are all the international students hiding?! It was decided that we're not buying lunch anymore because it's too expensive to have to do that everyday. I smuggled half a croissant and a little thing of Nutella out of the dining hall this morning. When Elizabeth was in class, I went wandering. I found where I thought my History of Art class would be, then I ended up wandering super far away and finding a beautiful park called the Meadows. Eventually I made it back to campus and met Elizabeth at the library where we got our official IDs and tried to figure out printing stuff. It costs basically 32cents per page to print! Ridiculous. I had class at 5:10 but I didn't really know where it'd be. I just found the History of Art building and went there hoping that someone could tell me where it would be in there. Turns out it wasn't in that building at all! I had to trek all the way back across campus and find the David Hume Lecture theater. That took longer than expected so I showed up to class a couple minutes late. Oops. It was okay though because two other people came in at the same time as me and 2 more people came in after. The teacher isn't Scottish, but he's still got a nice English accent. I think that's going to be the best part of class. Art history is rather dull. After that class was over, I had to walk back to Pollocks in the dark. Let's talk about how that ended up taking me an hour. It should have taken 20min. Praying I don't get lost coming back today because we have a new residents dessert meeting at 7 and I have to eat dinner before that.
It's now actually Wednesday. This post has been in the works since Tuesday morning. Jeez. I should probably just stop now and write a new post for other things that have happened. Well I'll finish Monday. So after dinner and such on Monday, my friends Elizabeth and Maddie came back to my room and we just hung out and talked and listened to music on youtube and found concerts in the UK. haha
Then after they left, just before I got my pjs on, there was a knock on my door and I met 3 of the people living on my hall, 2 guys and a girl. I don't see anyone ever when I'm in and out of the hallway which is weird. So I'm glad they knocked and said hello. The girl, Shelby, then invited me to her room and we drank tea and talked. That was fun. She's real nice. Hopefully I'll meet more people on the hall eventually. I just wish partying wasn't the main hang out event. I didn't realize how intense like everyone I've met is about partying. A lot of people go out every night! It's too bad it costs to go to events or I'd be more likely to go even though I don't drink. I don't want to spend money to go somewhere and be over it after like 2 hours then everyone else still be going strong for more hours. I feel like a party pooper but that's not my scene at all. I'd rather people potentially miss me because I'm not there than be there and not enjoy it. So yeah. That's enough. I'm about to leave to finally go meet my buddy! I hope she's nice! I'll post pictures soon; I'm trying to get a bit more so I have a significant number to share not just like 5. haha I'll also put my facebook album link on here when I put pictures on there because that's where the majority will be and I want everyone to be able to see them regardless of if you have facebook or not!
Cheers.
