One day earlier this week, I was at the library, and I heard this guy talking in a different language. I couldn't tell what it was. Then, it hit me. He was speaking English with a thick Scottish accent. Ha.
I've only really noticed a few words so far that people use that are different here, at least that were drastically different I had to ask what they meant[canteen]. Sometimes people say things and I just smile and nod because I'm not sure what they mean but I don't want to ask again. Haha

They also say cheers a lot. At the end of my Art History class, everyone claps. The elevators are tiny and so is the shower. Lots of things are backwards here. Like to lock my door, I turn left. So it's like lefty locky instead of lefty loosey. Doors that look like they should be pull are actually push. No one seems to heed whether the walk signs change to walk or not. If there's enough room to run across in between cars, people will.  The street names are put on the side of the buildings and a lot of streets have like 5 different names. That is probably why I get lost so much. I actually haven't since Monday night, thank goodness. A lot of girls wear short shorts with tights. Classy. There are always croissants at the dining hall. and fish. and potatoes. I feel like I'm hungry all the time though. Since we don't get lunch in the dining hall [which actually makes since because most people are on campus over lunch], I feel like I'm always hungry because I don't ever have much of a lunch. I'm usually hungry again by the time I go to bed too. I need some snacks. =)
I'm sore from walking so much. I won't need to join any running clubs! All the walking I do is making me sore. Rather ridiculous, but good. haha I walked around the city yesterday and saw child size kilts. Awesome. Also saw some of those classic red telephone booths! There are lots of cool looking alleys I will have to explore. I think they're called closes.
